Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 2025
LogiconLight takes your privacy seriously. We understand that corporate finance professionals and analysts trust us with sensitive data during their learning journey, and that trust matters to us.
This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you interact with our platform. We've written it in plain English because legal jargon helps no one. If something's unclear, reach out to us directly.
Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you use our platform. Some you give us directly, some we gather automatically as you navigate through courses and materials.
Personal Information You Provide
When you sign up for our programs or contact us, we ask for basic details that help us deliver our services:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Professional background and current role (helps us customize your learning path)
- Company information if you're enrolling through a corporate program
- Payment details when you purchase courses or subscriptions
- Communication preferences and language settings
Learning Activity Data
As you work through our courses, we track your progress and engagement. This isn't about surveillance—it helps us improve the platform and personalize your experience:
- Course completion rates and module progress
- Quiz scores, assignment submissions, and practice exercise results
- Time spent on different topics and materials
- Downloads of course resources and reference materials
- Interaction with discussion forums and peer comments
Technical Information
Our systems automatically collect technical data that helps us keep the platform running smoothly:
- IP address and general location (city level, not your exact address)
- Browser type, device information, and operating system
- Pages you visit and how you navigate through our site
- Access times and referring websites
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (more on this below)
How We Use Your Information
We're not in the business of hoarding data. Everything we collect serves a specific purpose related to delivering quality financial education.
Core Educational Services
- Creating and managing your learning account
- Providing access to purchased courses and materials
- Tracking your progress and awarding certificates
- Responding to your questions and support requests
- Sending course updates and important notifications
Platform Improvement
We analyze how people use our platform to make it better. Which modules do students struggle with? Where do people drop off? This data shapes our content updates and feature development.
Communication
We'll email you about things directly related to your courses—upcoming deadlines, new materials, technical issues. Marketing emails about other programs only come if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
What we don't do: We don't sell your personal information to third parties. We don't rent out our email lists. We don't use your data for advertising purposes beyond our own educational offerings.
Legal Basis and Vietnam Law Compliance
Operating in Vietnam means we follow local data protection regulations, including Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection and relevant provisions of the 2018 Law on Cybersecurity.
Our Legal Grounds for Processing
- Contract Performance: We need your information to deliver the educational services you've signed up for
- Consent: For marketing communications and optional features, we ask for your explicit permission
- Legitimate Interest: We process certain data to improve our platform and prevent fraud
- Legal Obligation: Some data processing is required by Vietnamese law, particularly for financial transactions
Data Localization
In accordance with Vietnamese regulations, we store personal data of Vietnamese users on servers located within Vietnam's borders. Some technical data may be processed internationally through our service providers, but sensitive personal information remains in-country.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share your information only when necessary to operate our platform or when required by law. Here's the complete picture:
Service Providers
We work with trusted companies that help us run the platform:
- Payment Processors: Handle transactions securely (we never see your full card details)
- Cloud Hosting: Store course materials and platform data
- Email Services: Deliver course notifications and communications
- Analytics Tools: Help us understand platform usage and performance
All these partners sign data processing agreements and can only use your information for the specific services they provide to us.
Corporate Programs
If your employer or organization has enrolled you in our courses, we share relevant progress data with them. This typically includes completion rates, assessment scores, and certificate achievements. We don't share forum posts, private messages, or detailed activity logs.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by Vietnamese law, court order, or government request. We'll notify you when possible unless legally prohibited from doing so.
Data Security Measures
Security isn't just an IT concern—it's built into everything we do. Our approach combines technical safeguards with organizational policies.
Technical Protection
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission
- Encrypted storage of sensitive personal information
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Multi-factor authentication for administrative access
- Automated backup systems with encrypted archives
Access Controls
Only authorized staff members can access personal data, and only when necessary for their specific role. We maintain detailed access logs and review them regularly. New employees go through data protection training before they can access any user information.
Reality check: No system is completely hack-proof. We do our best to protect your data, but if we detect a breach that affects you, we'll notify you within 72 hours and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.
Your Rights and Control
This is your data. You have specific rights regarding how we handle it, and we've made exercising those rights straightforward.
Right | What It Means | How to Exercise It |
---|---|---|
Access | Get a copy of all personal data we hold about you | Download from your account settings or request via email |
Correction | Fix inaccurate or incomplete information | Update directly in your profile or contact support |
Deletion | Request removal of your personal data | Email us—we'll process within 30 days |
Portability | Transfer your data to another service | Request a data export in machine-readable format |
Object | Stop certain types of data processing | Opt out through account settings or contact us |
Withdraw Consent | Revoke permission for optional processing | Change preferences in your account anytime |
Some limitations apply. For example, we can't delete transaction records we're legally required to keep for tax purposes. And if you're enrolled in an active course, we need to retain certain data until it concludes.
Making a Request
Send requests to info@logiconlight.com with "Data Rights Request" in the subject line. We'll verify your identity (to prevent unauthorized access) and respond within 30 days. Most requests are free, but we may charge a reasonable fee for excessive or repetitive requests.
Data Retention and Deletion
We don't keep your data forever. Our retention periods balance your need for access to course materials with data minimization principles.
Active Accounts
While your account is active, we retain all your learning data so you can access course materials, review past work, and pick up where you left off.
Inactive Accounts
If you haven't logged in for 3 years, we'll email you to ask if you want to keep your account. No response means we'll archive your data after 90 days. Archived data is kept for another 2 years in case you return, then permanently deleted.
Account Closure
When you close your account:
- Personal profile information is deleted within 30 days
- Course progress and submissions are anonymized after 90 days
- Financial records are retained for 7 years (Vietnamese tax law requirement)
- Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data may be retained indefinitely
Certificate Records
We maintain certificate issuance records indefinitely for verification purposes. These contain only your name, certificate number, course title, and completion date—not your full learning history.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential for the platform to work; others help us improve your experience.
Essential Cookies
These keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and enable core functionality. You can't opt out of these without breaking the platform.
Analytics Cookies
We use these to understand how people use the site—which pages they visit, where they encounter problems, how long they spend on different sections. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally. You can disable these through your browser settings.
Third-Party Cookies
Some embedded content (like video players) may set their own cookies. We've minimized these where possible and chosen privacy-respecting providers. Check their privacy policies for details on how they handle data.
Managing Cookies
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can block all cookies, accept only certain types, or delete cookies after each session. Keep in mind that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using key platform features.
International Data Transfers
While we store Vietnamese user data within Vietnam, some technical services operate globally. For example, our content delivery network speeds up course video loading by distributing files across international servers.
When data crosses borders, we ensure adequate protection through:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by Vietnamese authorities
- Selecting providers with strong data protection standards
- Encrypting data during transmission and storage
- Regular audits of international service providers
Sensitive personal information—like identification documents or detailed financial data—stays within Vietnam's borders.
Children's Privacy
Our platform is designed for corporate finance professionals and isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy periodically as our platform evolves or regulations change. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email and display a prominent notice on the platform.
Minor updates (like clarifying existing practices or fixing typos) happen without notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
Continuing to use our platform after policy changes means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with changes, you can close your account—though we'd prefer to discuss your concerns first.
Complaints and Regulatory Authority
We take privacy concerns seriously and want to resolve any issues directly with you. But you also have the right to file a complaint with Vietnam's relevant data protection authority if you believe we've mishandled your personal information.
The competent authority for data protection matters in Vietnam is the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications. You can reach them through their official channels for guidance or to file a complaint.
Questions or Concerns?
If anything in this policy is unclear, or if you have questions about how we handle your data, we're here to help. Real people read and respond to privacy inquiries—usually within 48 hours.
